There are thousands of law firms in the United Kingdom that are reputable, law firms that can provide legal services of the highest quality. Such law firms, solicitors and lawyers are in high demand – you know, the ones with all those fancy TV advertorials and shiny magazine ads. BUT, a fancy ad campaign does not always equal a dependable injury lawyer.
To find the most dependable injury lawyers, a little bit of research is required.
Large law firms
Injury lawyers at large law firms are often the most dependable. Why? Because the larger brands have a reputation to upkeep. This means any employed lawyers, or any lawyers who work in partnership with them, are vetted and will have a higher than average success rate.
The injury lawyers at UK Claim Lawyers, for example, are highly dependable. This company is of course regulated by the Claims Management Regulator and is a completely independent legal practitioner – they specialise in all areas of personal injury law, too.
Local injury lawyers
The major benefit to going with an injury lawyer local to you is that it’s easy for you to meet them in person – something that’s prized because of the additional flexibility. If you are looking to choose an injury lawyer local to you, make a note of each firm’s name and look for reviews and testimonials on the internet. This will uncover any issues clients have had.
The best way to find dependable and local injury lawyers is by recommendation. Ask friends and family whether or not they have ever used the services of a local lawyer.
Independent lawyers
Some lawyers may offer their services independently – rather than work for a larger law firm. The problem with choosing such a lawyer is that reviews and testimonials will be more difficult to find – especially on the internet – and there is a chance that because they work on their own, they won’t have handled any cases similar to yours.
If you have found an independent lawyer you like, ask them about their success rate and how many cases they have handled that are similar to your own. The last thing you want is a lawyer who is out of their depth, or otherwise inexperienced.
Solicitors Regulation Authority
The SRA deserves a section of its own – all lawyers in England and Wales must be on the SRA’s ‘roll of solicitors’ to be able to call themselves a lawyer or solicitor. You can use the search function on the SRA website to check a firm’s credentials. This will ensure that you aren’t taken in by a bogus solicitor or bogus law firm – an increasingly common problem.
Get your solicitor’s roll number, otherwise known as an SRA ID number, and check them.
