All couples that are getting married will want to spend the day celebrating the occasion with their family and friends. However, not everyone wants a traditional reception. You don’t have to choose between a band and a DJ
If you are undecided whether a band or DJ would be the best choice for your evening entertainment, then choosing both could be a good option. The DJ could play at the start of the evening, in the breaks that the band take, and then again at the end of the evening to bring events to a close.
Create a photo guestbook
Rather than just having guests sign your guest book, get them to write their message on a piece of paper and have their photo taken whilst holding their message. These photos can then be compiled to form your guest book. You don’t need to use a professional photographer for this; one of your guests armed with a smart phone could probably do the job just as well.
Consider your food options
If you do not want a traditional sit down meal, then there are plenty of other alternative food options that you can consider. Buffets are always popular as people can just help themselves to the food that they want. A great hog roast is also a good idea as this allows people to have something more substantial, while still being informal.
Having a wedding reception that is different to anything your guests may have experienced before will ensure that gets spoken about time and again. It will help to make the whole day something to remember and you will be able to look back on the day with fond memories for the rest of your lives together.
